NEWCASTLE, ENGLAND, May 01, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- According to research conducted by New York University, many promising young entrepreneurs feel deterred from pursuing entrepreneurship due to the difficulties they could stand to face in the process. The research surveyed participants of the BizCamp program, in which students are asked to come up with a business idea, develop a business plan and present their proposals to industry professionals for assessment. Before starting the program participants were asked whether they would like to start a business in the future to which 91% said that they would. However after experiencing a glimpse of what they would come up against in the real business world, only 85% still wanted to pursue a career in entrepreneurship after completing the program. Sales and Marketing firm Complete One believes that although these results suggest a decline in business ambition among young people, there are positive outcomes of the study. Programmes such as BizCamp are providing young people with a reality check and exposing them to some of the real dangers and pitfalls of entrepreneurship before they put their career and money on the line. The majority of young entrepreneurs fail in today's competitive business world because they are unprepared, and lack the experience and knowledge to steer the course. However, the firm also believe that instead of simply showing young people the challenges these programmes must also promote what is possible to achieve through entrepreneurship and offer participants the necessary skill development and solutions to help them overcome common business challenges.
