Photographs of H.D. Hasselbarth Displayed in Sarasota's Selby Gardens Exhibition

    SARASOTA, FL, May 07, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The annual photography exhibition at Selby Gardens is a popular venue for regional photographers, giving international exposure with the thousands of guests who visit the Gardens. Photos displayed in the exhibit are also available for purchase with sale proceeds benefiting the botanical conservation and education mission of Selby Gardens. This year's theme is 'Found in Florida' and provides a vast array of native flora and fauna found on this peninsular state.

AX4U-Fine Art Photography is pleased to announce that award-winning, fine-arts photographer, H.D. Hasselbarth, has three photographs on display at the Selby Garden's Museum of Botany and Arts.

The prints available at Selby are custom-made by H.D. Hasselbarth on archival paper with archival inks. Hasselbarth's technical skill at color calibration and printmaking is the hallmark of each photograph. Each piece is available for purchase at Selby's Museum of Botany and Arts.

In her work, Hasselbarth works magic with landscapes and natural environments. Her eye is always towards color and composition that renders her work painterly. Having vacationed in Florida since a child, Hasselbarth is well-acquainted with the landscapes and changes in environment affecting Florida. Like the subjects she studies, her pieces document the transition from wetlands to concrete in a personal, sometimes visceral point of view. The three pieces are available for sale with portions of proceeds to benefit Selby Gardens.

"I have lived in Florida for so long and feel blessed to have access to the natural beauty that is special to this place. I have spent many days wading through swampy waters, strolling along the beach at sunset, and hiking through nature trails and parks with my camera. So it seemed right up my alley to have photographs of natural Florida. It was difficult to select only three. I am very happy with the presentation of photographs and with everyone at Selby Gardens who helps put on this event," states Hasselbarth.

Organized by the Selby Gardens in Sarasota, Florida, the exhibition features black-and-white and color photographs by local and international photographers. This is the 35th Annual Juried Photography Exhibition hosted by Selby Gardens. A celebrated tradition, this exhibition provides an excellent venue for established and emerging photographers.

The exhibition runs from April 30 through June 21, 2015, and is hosted by the Museum of Botany and the Arts at Marie Selby Botanical Gardens.
