LAS VEGAS, NV, May 18, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Memorial Day will soon be here and in anticipation of one of the biggest travel holidays in the U.S., Grand Canyon Helicopter Tours announces a series of price cuts on some of the hottest flights available.
Budget Beaters
The Canyon fly over tour from Las Vegas will especially appeal to budget travelers. It's the lowest-priced tour on the menu and is now available for reservations. "This particular flight is a great value that just got even better," said Keith Kravitz, owner of Grand Canyon Helicopter Tours.
The fly over tour departs on the hour every day of the week. It goes over Lake Mead, Hoover Dam and the Colorado River before reaching the Canyon and heading back to the heliport. "The views on this flight are simply phenomenal," noted Kravitz. "One gets a true sense of the Canyon's vastness."
Another Vegas flight that's specially priced for Memorial Day lands on the floor of the Canyon and comes with a Champagne Picnic. For those travelers who want it all, this trip can be upgraded to include a boat ride down the Colorado River plus VIP tickets to the internationally famous Grand Canyon Skywalk.
Skywalk
The Skywalk, which is located on the West Rim some 120 miles from Vegas, is a glass bridge that extends some 70 feet over the edge and lets travelers walk to a point where they are standing approximately 4,000 feet over the bottom. "The Glass Bridge has to be experienced to be believed," noted Kravitz. "And when it comes to views, it's second to none."

Memorial Day specials are available at the South Rim as well, which is located in northern Arizona and is some 2.5 hours from Sedona, AZ, and 4.5 hours from Phoenix. "The South Rim is definitely worth the drive," said Kravitz. "The beauty here is unsurpassed and definitely worthy of being on every traveler's bucket list."
There are two kinds of South Rim tours: the 30-minute flight and the 50-minute flight. The 30-minute tour is the one that's discounted for Memorial Day. It takes visitors from the South Rim to the North Rim and back via the incredible Dragoon Corridor. However, for those who want to see up to 75% of the Park, it's recommended that one takes the 50-minute flight.

Memorial Day weekend is the first three-day summer holiday in the U.S., which means visitation is expected to be off the charts in terms of being busy. As such, travelers are advised to book a flight after hotel reservations are made. "Try not to purchase these flights within 48 hours of flight time as prices increase," noted Kravitz. "And by all means, avoid booking same-day as all fares become premium fares."
Nearly all Memorial Day deals are available on the Internet. However, to qualify for them, travelers need to keep in mind that reservations must be entirely transacted on the Web in order to qualify for the special discount price. "After the online booking is made," added Kravitz, "it's perfectly legit to confirm the booking or discuss certain terms and conditions over the phone with a live representative.
