Sometimes people think that the girls can't really be as geeky as the guys, but there is a strong female geek community out there.
SACRAMENTO, CA, May 28, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Beyond Geek has started production on Season 2 with a brand new addition: internet sensation Brittni Barger has joined the ranks of Beyond Geek hosts. Barger hails from YouTube channels Smosh and Four Letter Nerds, and she's about to dive even deeper into all things geek.
Beyond Geek takes its host and viewers on a different adventure in each episode. The hosts of Season 1, Nate Lake, Sage Michael, and Dan Reynoso, found themselves in all kinds of quirky exploits ranging from jumping foam-padded sword first into a 500-person battle, to suiting up and patrolling city streets with real-life superheroes, to immersing into an 8-bit world where original music is composed using old computers and out-of-date video consoles as the instruments.
"In Beyond Geek, we throw the hosts into situations they've never done before, so that they can learn along with the viewers how and why these very interesting people do what they do," explains show creator and executive producer Joe Gillis.
Barger is on board.
"Nerding out on esoteric geekdoms that I never knew existed is rare gift that I feel really lucky to be a part of and witness," says Barger.
Recruiting Barger has turned out to be a bonus for Gillis. He explains, "Sometimes people think that the girls can't really be as geeky as the guys, but there is a strong female geek community out there. I make it a point to show geek women in action as much as I can in each episode so that viewers can see that there really are geek girls, and they are just as cool as the guys."
What kinds of adventures will Barger and the rest of the Beyond Geek hosts go on in Season 2?
"You'll have to wait and see," asserts Gillis.
