LAS VEGAS, NV, June 09, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- In celebration of Father's Day, Grand Canyon Tours, the leader in quality National Park air tours, is discounting select helicopter and airplane tours that depart from Las Vegas, NV, and Tusayan/South Rim, AZ.
Las Vegas
The Vegas helicopter flight that will be on special includes a day of rafting on the Colorado River as well as landing on the bottom of the Canyon. "It's a full day of adventure that's perfect for Dads of all ages," said Keith Kravitz, owner of Grand Canyon Tours.
This particular trip, which is open to kids as young as 4, starts with an exciting 4,000-foot helicopter ride to the base, followed by an 11.3-mile cruise down the River in a 19-man pontoon raft. "The rafting segment shoves off from the base of Hoover Dam," noted Kravitz. "That alone is a once-in-a lifetime experience."
The Vegas plane tour that's price-reduced flies to the West Rim. It lands there and guests are transferred to a helicopter for a flight to the base and then a boat ride down the Colorado. Afterward, it's back to the top for VIP access to the Grand Canyon Skywalk. "This trip has been nicked-named the MEGA because travelers get to see and do all the Canyon has to offer," noted Kravitz.
South Rim
It should be noted that Las Vegas helicopters do not fly to the South Rim. This is because it's too far. If travelers want to visit the South Rim, the best option is a direct airplane flight. "This is the fastest way to the South Rim," said Kravitz. "Plus, the trip can be upgraded with a Jeep or bus tour or a helicopter ride."
The South Rim helicopter ride that's marked down specially for Father's Day is the helicopter-jeep combo. It features a 2-hour Jeep 4x4 tour inside the Park plus a 30-minute helicopter ride from the South Rim to the North Rim and back. "This particular tour is the best way to experience the Canyon from the air and the ground," said Kravitz.
Do keep in mind that deluxe helicopter tours are available from both destinations. What makes these packages deluxe is the helicopter. In nearly all cases, it will feature an EcoStar 130, which is the best sightseeing chopper on the planet. "The EC 130 is 25 percent bigger than conventional helicopters," said Kravitz. "It also comes with a 180-degree wraparound windshield and stadium-style bucket seats."
RSVP
Father's Day is expected to be crowded. As such, advance reservations are recommended. "Rule of thumb is to book air tours at least a week or two in advance," noted Kravitz. "By doing this, visitors will be able to pick from the best flights and the best flight times."
Flight discounts listed here must be booked online in order to get the special Father's Day rate. Failure to do that might result in paying the full retail price. "Best thing to do is to complete the booking online," said Kravitz. "If modifications are required to the original booking, by all means call customer service."
