According to the Kauffman Index there were some notable trends in the findings: the biggest gain in start-ups has been among men, who make up 63 percent of new entrepreneurs. On top of this, immigrants are far more likely so start businesses than native-born Americans, with immigrants starting 28.5 percent of the businesses recorded. Plus, along with the aging population, start-ups are aging too. The biggest gains have been among older entrepreneurs, with 55-64 year olds making up 26 percent of enterprises.
