LOS ANGELES, CA, June 09, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Writer /Director Chris Librizzi and his partners at Jeff Slash Geoff productions are no strangers to the world of stand-up comedy. Along with Mike Sobolewski and Jarek Zukowski of Cinegraph productions Librizzi and comedians Joe Ardenti and Brandon Longstreth set out on a city to city tour of comedy open mics. Over a 2 week period they acquired over 70 hours of footage including interviews and performances from relatively unknown comics.
For the most part "5-7 Minutes" shows that comedy open mics, in general can be harsh and thankless to both the comics and the audience and sometimes will elicit reactions and responses from both sides that are hard to believe. So, why do they exist at all?
The film takes a close look at the benefits of open mics and how they can prepare the next generation of comedians for the big stage.
