National Association of Distinguished Professionals Selects Kathleen Finkle as a Distinguished Professional in Her Field

Kathleen Finkle will be featured in the upcoming edition of the NADP Women of Distinction Magazine in 2015.



    JACKSONVILLE, IL, June 10, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Kathleen Finkle, Founder and Executive Director of HELPS Ministry Outreach, has been recognized as a Distinguished Professional in her field through the National Association of Distinguished Professionals. Kathleen Finkle will be featured in the upcoming edition of the NADP Women of Distinction Magazine in 2015.

Working with and advocating for youth and inmates in the justice system since the age of 15, Kathleen Finkle has always had a special place in her heart for those children without a voice. Witnessing both of her brothers lost to the system at the ages of 9 and 11, she has dedicated her life and career to helping the youth.

Serving as founder and executive director of HELPS Ministry Outreach since 1980, Ms. Finkle brings more than 40 years of human services experience to the table. Having documented her career and training and having performed duties as a minister and counselor, she is known locally as the 'Life Skills GURU', providing her services once per month at HELPS and teaching courses at Lincoln Land Community College in Jacksonville, Illinois.

"My education and professional background have provided me with extensive professional experience in the field of spiritual, pastoral, and ministerial care," Ms. Finkle said. "In my experience, I have worked with all ages of people and races, as well as juveniles to college students. In doing so, I've provided intensive counseling to families and individuals through the Department of Children and Family Services and the Department of Human Services, as well as pre-martial, individual, group counseling through the Department of Corrections."

In the 1980's, Ms. Finkle was a volunteer chaplain at The Old Christian Home in Quincy, Illinois. She has had many occasions to counsel, preach, and teach in numerous penitentiaries in Illinois, Iowa, and Missouri. Previously employed by Chaddock Circle of Care, a therapeutic transitional center for troubled youth, from 1983-87, she taught life skills, was a resident counselor, and minister.

Ms. Finkle has been recognized for numerous awards and accolades for her work over the years. She has also served the Illinois Department of Human Services Advisory Board, the Quincy Board of Education, and the Department of Human Services advisory board. She presently serves on the United Methodist Church of America's Board of the Illinois Great Rivers Conference, Church, and Society. She is a loving wife to Leslie D. Finkle for more than 33 years, a mother of three, grandmother of 14, and great-grandmother of 11. It has been through HELPS, her loving and supporting family, and her religious beliefs that she has been able to follow in her mission to help others.

Ms. Finkle is also a certified paralegal of more than 15 years who is steps away from earning her BS in Criminal Justice at Hannibal-LaGrange University.
