James Cancer Hospital and Wexner Medical Center. Dr. Chakravarti holds an MD from the University of Virginia, completed a residency at Massachusetts General Hospital and had served on the faculty at Harvard Medical School at Massachusetts General Hospital, where he became Director of the Brian D. Silber Laboratory for Molecular and Cellular Neuro-Radiation Oncology. An active member within the field, Dr. Chakravarti holds national leadership roles within the American Board of Radiology, ASTRO, ACRO (Chair of Scientific Program Committee), NRG (Chair of Translational Research Group: Brain Tumors) and the International Society for Radiation Neuro-Biology (Chair of the Scientific Advisory Board). Additionally, he serves as the North American delegate to the European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancers (EORTC's) Brain Tumor Steering Committee. He is on the editorial board of over a half dozen leading medical and scientific journals. In recognition of his many significant accomplishments, Dr. Chakravarti has recently been inducted into Worldwide Registry. Notably, Dr. Chakravarti has been named Top Doctor by Columbus Magazine, Castle Connolly and Best Doctors, Inc. He was also one of the co-recipients of the largest United States Federal Grant in history for Radiation Oncology. In the coming years, Dr. Chakravarti intends to find new creative therapies for cancer with special emphasis on brain tumors and prostate cancer.
