LUTZ, FL, June 11, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- According to egmCarTech, American carmaker GMC has confirmed that it will be expanding its product line, which may include the introduction of new models in the compact and mid-size vehicle segments.
Based on the article, the brand's sales and marketing vice president, Duncan Aldred, all but confirmed a rumor regarding GMC's lineup expansion in the next few years, and described which markets are more prone to receive new models, and which ones are not. For example, the full-size segment may not receive any new additions (or as many offerings as the other departments), since it is "already well-catered for."
"We are looking at everything. What segments will grow? What segments will not? We are evaluating all possibilities that could really turbocharge the brand and the growth," said Aldred, according to The Torque Report.
As for industry rumors regarding a possible Jeep Wrangler competitor, the VP did not reveal anything that would confirm or deny a rival to the off-roading brand. However, according to PickupTrucks, GMC might resurrect an old Hummer concept from 2008 known as the HX.
If new models will be appearing in GMC's lineup in the coming years, the carmaker's recent advertisement initiative called "Precision," which encompasses three TV ads: "Fastball," "Swish" and "Sharp," is a good way to showcase the brand's current models.
The ad promotes the automaker's full line of 2015 model-year trucks, SUVs and crossovers, while emphasizing the "relentless attention to detail" given to each vehicle, something the car manufacturer considers to be a true foundational value to the brand.
