SEOUL, KOREA, June 13, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- iPortfolio (president Kim Sung-yoon) secured a supply contract of KBS program series "A Walk around the World" on June 21 through Travalloon, the company's mobile travel application. The company will distribute the program as smart content.
Through this contract, "A Walk around the World," which covered 150 countries during the past decade, will be re-edited as video clips that are optimized for more than 10,000 mobile devices. They will be provided to travelers' smart devices as multi-language content, based on location via Travalloon's application.
KBS will cut the previous and new episodes of "A Walk around the World" based on location. The episodes will be re-edited as video clips, which are optimized for mobile devices, and will create meta data.
Meanwhile, iPortfolio will construct meta data servers, develop the Watch Menu, specializing in travel videos on Travalloon app, and will be in charge of service management.
This is a great example of creating a new type of smart content that combines the advantages of a broadcaster's high-quality content and a start-up's travel mobile technology.
Moreover, it is receiving great fanfare, as it aims to recreate high quality programs in a new format, and to provide them to mobile users and existing TV viewers.
With this project, KBS is hoping to acquire new distribution channels for culture programs by securing mobile device users and expanding media scope beyond TV. Also, the company looks to improve communication with its viewers and raise the Internet reach rate by using cross media. Furthermore, the company is expecting more advertising revenue.
iPortfolio will add to its strengths by producing travel-specialized videos via Travalloon. The company regards this as a meaningful opportunity to attract more foreign members to Travalloon.
After the contract is signed, KBS and iPortfolio will prepare and develop their contents. Then, they will provide new services via the app by the end of June.
