Mr. Schmidt's primary areas of practice include trials and appeals, and business and complex litigation. Most of his clients work in the commercial sector.

With more than 30 years of legal experience, Mr. Schmidt demonstrates knowledge in alternative dispute resolution and complex commercial litigation. On a daily basis, he handles ERISA and securities cases in the state and federal courts. Prior to joining the law firm of Cohen, Todd, Kite & Stanford, Mr. Schmidt served as a judicial law clerk for U.S. District Court Judge David S. Porter.
Always describing himself as a hard worker, Mr. Schmidt attributes his success to his ability to pay attention to details and maintain open lines of communication with his clients. The legal profession appealed to him because he wanted to help people resolve their problems.

Mr. Schmidt received his JD degree from the Salmon P. Chase College of Law, Northern Kentucky University.
