SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA, June 26, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Entrepreneurship does not follow a structured path like most careers. The key to being a successful entrepreneur is all about attitude. Alba International, a sales and marketing firm in Sydney outline their six pieces of advice on how to create a positive entrepreneurial mindset.

1. Dance to the beat of your own drum
Be a leader not a follower. "It does not matter how many people do what you do, no one will do it the same way you do it," explains Alba International. People are drawn to entrepreneurs because of their unique gifts and talents. While it is important to have a network and to learn from others, it's vital to remain authentic.
2. Don't put people on a pedestal
While it's okay to look up to people and admire them for what they have achieved, it can cause people to want to emulate them. By putting someone on a pedestal, they are putting themselves down. Budding entrepreneurs should take the time to realise any shared traits with those they respect and admire and then utilise their precious time and energy to dream big, stay inspired and focus on achieving their own goals.
3. See both sides of the coin
In business and life in general, entrepreneurs should aim to see both sides. Quite often when someone is motivated they only see the benefits of their decisions rather than the drawbacks.
To improve chances of success individuals should take a step back and analyse both sides before acting to fully prepare for whatever comes their way.
4. Meditation
Aim to set aside 10-20 minutes per day to have peace and quiet. The meditation process enables someone to connect with their soul. This gives them access to information they would otherwise not receive through logical thinking. Throughout the working day our mind is too busy but by taking a short time to meditate and quietening the mind daily, it gives someone the guidance and visions that are connected with their heart and allows them to reach their true purpose.
5. Appreciation
It is important for people to take the time to appreciate what they already have. One way to do this is to spend a few minutes every morning, writing down a list of everything they are grateful for. Appreciating even the smallest things like a cup of coffee in the morning or a walk along the beach on a beautiful day, it helps to focus on the many blessings they have right now.
Rather than wanting more and feeling dissatisfied, showing appreciation enables someone to live in the present moment and ride out the waves of highs and lows.
"Be thankful for what you have; you'll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don't have, you will never, ever have enough." - Oprah Winfrey
6. Beware the seesaw of praise and criticism
When someone becomes reliant on outside validation it makes them hungry for more.
People should also understand the benefits of being criticised as it gives them the opportunity to implement better systems and make improvements and makes someone a more resilient person.
