ORLANDO, FL, July 01, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Twenty-six charter and three new members were pinned by President Huang at Buena Vista Palace members of Rotary District 6980, under District Governor Jo Weber. Weber now serves 47 clubs and almost 2,000 members in the five county district.
The community leaders include club president Rachel Elle Siu, CPA at Siu & Zanowick CPAs. The Vice-President is Bo-Yu Paul Lao owner of Lucy Ho's Chinese restaurant in Leesburg. President Nominee is Jiashun Huang, Vice President of Engineering at Eair LLC, an air conditioning supply company. The treasurer is Ying Jessica Zhu, VP at transportation company DX Crossing, Inc. His assistant is Mibin Mary Chen, who is in commercial and residential air conditioning at Connect, Repair, & Installation. Secretary Christina Wong is a real estate agent at Caldwell Banker Winter Springs. Real estate agent Robert Lynch is assistant secretary. Yuan Michael Zhu, also of DX Crossing, Inc., was voted Sergeant-at-Arms of the club. Rick Xi, international Chinese news reporter with North American Economic Herald and Hsien Mei Chen of Dragon Legend Entertainment, Inc. were also named club Board of Directors.
Other members pinned were Jim Beyer of PowerOne Inc., Suhwa Brown of New Creative Tours, Kenny CK Chang, a real estate manager, Xi Lucy Fender of Cloud 9 Services construction, Jennie Lee of J.J. Lee Enterprises mortgage, Hong Can Lin with Superb Remodel, Gui Ming Jimmy Liu owner of LB Auto Trading LLC, Tsuei Hwa Lisa Lynch of LJL Real Estate, Dr Liu Meng is the Chief Technolgy Officer of Dragon Legend Entertainment, Inc., Phyllis 'Dr O' Olmstead of Olmstead Publishing LLC, Yuging Tang in information technology with Orange County, Chun Nong Peter Wang at Zhang Zhou Hualtin Development, Co., Dong Tony Wang of American Tai-Chi Industries, Inc., Eddie Yeh of Kim Lai Shing groceries, Shiliang Philip Zhao with Connect Repair & Installation, Chung Ying Zheng a mechanical engineer.
Members that joined post-charter include Crystal Chen in marketing with Legend Art Production, Shu Hui Cheng is a manager at Golden Gate Inc., and Ying-Chi Jenny Liao owner of Lucy Ho's Chinese restaurant in Leesburg. As of July 1, 2015, the new Rotary District 6980 governor will be A. J. Range, vice president of the University of Central Florida, and the new International President of Rotary will be K.R. 'Ravi' Ravindran founder of Sri Lanka Anti-Narcotics Association.
The Rotary Flame, carried by Australia's Rotarian Susanne Rea, led the Rotary Club of Orlando Dragons into their Charter Night Ceremony. Since December 2014, the Rotary Flame has traveled the world to celebrate the end of polio in India and to raise awareness and funds to end polio in the final three countries. Rea, a polio survivor, has been traveling the globe with the flame for months representing her promotion World's Greatest Meal to Help End Polio. The dollars for polio are currently being tripled by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
Also present for the celebration were Director General Philip TY Wang, Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TEC), his wife Meili, Adolfo Sun, Vice Consul TEC, and James Lin, Immigration Officer TEC, RIP Huang's wife Corinna, and Orlando City Commissioner Samuel Ings and his wife June.
