Model Fabio Lanzoni to Lead the 3rd Annual "The Greatest Escape" Motorcycle Ride for Mesothelioma Research in Los Angeles

    LOS ANGELES, CA, June 30, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Pacific Mesothelioma Center (PMC) at the Pacific Heart, Lung & Blood Institute (PHLBI) is excited to announce the third annual "The Greatest Escape" Motorcycle Ride, proudly presented by Worthington & Caron, P.C. The ride will be on July 26, 2015 and start at the Glendale Harley-Davidson. This annual event benefits victims of malignant pleural mesothelioma, a rare form of cancer that results from exposure to asbestos and commonly affects the lining of the chest-- the pleura.

The event will kick-off at 8:30 a.m. with registration at the Glendale Harley-Davidson. The ride will officially begin at 10 a.m. Riders will cruise through the scenic LA Crest Highway and finish at the beautiful Newcomb's Ranch in La Canada. Riders will be joined by Celebrity Grand Marshal Fabio, other celebrity riders and law enforcement officials. At Newcomb's Ranch, participants will enjoy a BBQ lunch, craft beer, a concert by Cherry & the Bulldogs, vendors, an auction and opportunity drawing with prizes valued at thousands of dollars. Gary Bryan, of the K-Earth 101 Morning Show, will bring added entertainment as the MC for the event.

The motorcycle ride originated as a tribute to "The Great Escape" movie, starring actor Steve McQueen, who died of mesothelioma. Since its inception, hundreds have gathered each year to honor those who have lost the fight against mesothelioma and to raise money for research.

The registration fee is $40 for riders and $30 for passengers who register online by July 24, 2015. Riders who register online will receive five free opportunity drawing tickets. On-site registration is $45 for riders and $35 for passengers. The fee includes a ride pin, bandanna, lunch, cooling necktie, entertainment and parking.
