WASHINGTON, DC, July 02, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Childhood obesity. Lack of affordable and quality healthcare. Homelessness. While myriad social inequalities have exhausted traditional solutions within many communities, community activists, corporations, entertainers and non-profits are uniting to tackle these issues. A new Washington, D.C.-based strategic communications firm leverages entertainment and philanthropy to implement social change to issues that have long plagued communities.
Founded in 2015 by T-Kea Blackman, Nspire, LLC. (Nspire) (www.unitetonspire.com) is a strategic communications firm that specializes in public relations, event production and partnership development. Nspire is committed to raising awareness of various social issues, shifting perceptions and changing behaviors through entertainment and philanthropy. Through its staff and partners, Nspire provides support to entrepreneurs, colleges, corporations, small businesses and nonprofits who work to create social change through their philanthropic, community relations and corporate social responsibility initiatives.
Passionate about creating social change and leaving her mark in the world through community outreach and entertainment, Blackman, says "Nspire gives me the opportunity to do everything I love. But more importantly, to 'nspire' others and create social change."
Blackman is also the founder of Lady Me, a mentoring program that equips Washington, D.C.-area girls with tools for building self-esteem, character and confidence. Blackman received her Bachelor of Arts in radio, television and film production from Howard University. She earned her Master of Professional Studies in public relations and corporate communications from Georgetown University in May 2015.
"It's exciting to 'nspire' someone to approach a situation, project or task differently and I look forward to 'nspiring' change through the work we do," says Elizabeth McCreary, Nspire Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer. McCreary has played a key role in coordinating many D.C.-area projects. She also coordinates logistics for Black Entertainment Television-hosted events and award shows.
In addition to event management, the Nspire partnership is a collaboration of graphic designers, media relations consultants and website designers modeled on an exchange of services at discounted rates.
"Partnering with Nspire allows me to work on social issues, help solve complex problems and shift perceptions through the use of design. I love that," says Franchesa Rivera, partner, senior graphic designer.
