Dr. Gharagozloo is one of the leading experts in robotic thoracic surgery, surgery for benign and malignant esophageal disorders, and surgery for advanced thoracic malignancies. As the result of his pioneering work and vast experience in robotic surgery, Dr. Gharagozloo was the first thoracic surgeon to be awarded with "Surgeon of Excellence in Robotic Surgery" by the Surgical Review Corporation and Clinical Robotic Surgery Association in 2015.
Dr. Gharagozloo holds an MD from Johns Hopkins University and he is board certified by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery. To stay at the cusp of changes in his field, he is tremendously involved in his professional community. He is an affiliate of the Nicholson Center for Robotic Surgical Training, the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, the Cardiothoracic Surgery Network, the Clinical Robotic Surgery Association, the Society of Robotic Surgery, the American Board of Thoracic Surgery and the American College of Surgeons.
