    NEW YORK, NY, July 15, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Hospital for Special Surgery Physician Andrew Pearle, MD, has been recognized for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in orthopedic surgery.

Dr. Pearle specializes in arthroscopic and robotic surgery, knee reconstruction and partial replacement, and shoulder, elbow and knee arthroscopy. Board-certified, he is also an associate team physician with the New York Mets, and he also coordinates care for the New York Mets minor league teams such as the Brooklyn Cyclones.

Since being recruited as an attending physician with the Hospital for Special Surgery, Dr. Pearle has contributed to the development of one of the first computer-assisted surgery programs in the United States. On a daily basis, he performs orthopedic surgeries and conducts research to bring robotic and computerized techniques "from bench to table," as he describes it. In addition to his duties at the hospital, Dr. Pearle is a member of the International ACI Study Group and the International Society of Arthroscopy. Knee Surgery, and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine.

Noted for excellence, Dr. Pearle has received several awards for his work in orthopedics. Among them is the Aircast Award for Basic Science from the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine. He has also been a recipient of the Richard S. Laskin Research Award and the OREF Zimmer Orthopaedic Surgery Career Development Award.

Recognized for his dedication to medical research and academics, Dr. Pearle also attributes his success to his passion for helping others. He became involved in his profession because of his childhood dream of becoming a doctor.

Dr. Pearle received his MD from Stanford Medical School and his bachelor's degree from Amherst College. He was recently inducted into Worldwide Registry and also maintains affiliations with the Orthopedic Research Society, the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the Arthroscopy Association of North America.
