Founder of Snip-its Haircuts for Kids to Keynote at CWE Women Business Leaders Conference 2015

Joanna Meiseles shares lessons learned in her entrepreneurship journey.

FRAMINGHAM, MA, July 17, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Center for Women & Enterprise (CWE), a nationally-known nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering women in business, today announced Joanna Meiseles, creator and founder of Snip-its Haircuts for Kids , one of the country's fastest-growing chains of children's hair salons, will speak at the CWE Women Business Leaders Conference 2015, taking place Thursday-Friday, October 22-23 at the Sheraton Hotel in Framingham, Massachusetts.

Hundreds of business professionals will converge at New England's premier educational and networking event for women business leaders and supplier diversity professionals. This year's conference theme is "Paths to Possibilities," featuring interactive workshops and networking opportunities with Fortune 500 corporations, women business leaders, and community advocates who support women's economic empowerment in New England. The event will also include the annual CWE Awards Luncheon where business and community leaders will be recognized for their achievements in promoting and furthering the success of women in business in New England. In addition, the event will feature the finals of the 2015 CWE Women-Owned Business Challenge, a business plan competition for women business leaders.

Meiseles, the daughter of a Hollywood producer and granddaughter of comedian Jack Benny, created a branded entertainment concept designed to untangle the hair-care challenges of children. "It was important to me for my business to be remarkable and not ordinary," Meiseles said. Meiseles opened her first Snip-its salon in Framingham, MA, in 1995. Now Snip-its boasts more than 65 locations nationwide, both company-owned and franchised. Currently, Meiseles is an active business consultant and coach, specializing in women-led startups. She serves as a mentor to several accelerator and incubator programs and is a frequent public speaker in the Boston area.

"Joanna's story illustrates how challenging--yet rewarding--the entrepreneurial journey can be. The growth and success of Snip-its didn't come without hiccups. The lessons Joanna learned along the way will be invaluable to our conference attendees," said Susan Rittscher, President and CEO of the Center for Women & Enterprise.
