Dr. Carol Slomski Recognized for Excellence in Breast Health

    WEIRTON, WV, July 17, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Carol Slomski has been recognized for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in breast health.

Dr. Slomski has been a medical practitioner and breast surgeon since 1986. Inspired by her love of science and her desire to follow in her mother's footsteps in the medical field, she has been successful because of her can-do attitude and dedication to helping her patients achieve a better quality of life. In her role with the Weirton Medical Center, located in West Virginia, Dr. Slomski demonstrates an expertise in breast surgery and cancer treatment. "Educating our patients is tremendously important when talking about their health; they can't ask questions if they aren't fully aware of what their diagnosis means," Dr. Slomski mentions of her approach. In her day-to-day experience, she provides care and consultation in all areas of breast surgery, including both benign and malignant procedures.

Prior to establishing her career, Dr. Slomski earned an MD from the University of Pittsburgh and a bachelor's degree from the College of Mount St. Joseph. Named one of Castle Connolly's top doctors for her tremendous contributions to the medical field over three decades, she continues to develop herself professionally and stay on top of new advances in technology by affiliating with a number of industry organizations. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and an active member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons.
