SAN FRANCISCO, CA, July 23, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The idea is simple, a new way to meet people when your new in town or just shy. Technical people love gadgets but hate the confrontation and possible rejection of meeting people.
Now you can use your iPhone with Beacon technology to meet others. When a place has a Beacon installed, the app will notify you (and possibly present you with a local deal), others in the area will be notified that you are there as well if you have a public profile and you will be notified that others are there.
If you see someone you want to meet then you can chat on the app with them and maybe meet them in person, no more sharing phone numbers or Facebook information, just use the app to communicate and see where it goes form there, you can always block them :)
The idea for the app was simple and the current mobile and beacon technology made sense to develop. So at the AngelHack 2015 in Santa Clara, the idea became reality and the "Beacon Meet Up" app was born.
We are using some of the latest Beacon technology from Sensora (http://www.sensoro.com), they have a beacon that runs on 4 AA batteries, this provide years of power so no need to replace the battery and no longer do you worry about the little watch batter dying in a few months like some other devices. A partner can install the beacon and everything is good to go.
Sponsors that have the beacons in their locations can submit Ads that will be presented to users when they are near the beacons, these can be anything from "Welcome" messages to "Full Blown Offers and Specials". The users have complete privacy and will never be connect with the Sponsors unless they opt-in to a deal.
Users can see others near them based on the beacon and can share profile information and chat, this can continue once they are no longer near the beacon as well if they choose.
Now that we have the basic app created and the back end API system in place, the next step is to make it look pretty and get some marketing going.
We have started a Kickstarter campaign for this purpose.
In general sponsors can can place an Ad for a year for their pledge or get a "Badge" on the app and be one of the initial beta users. Higher level pledges will actually get one or more Beacons that can be placed in a location and then an Ad / Deal associated with the Beacon will be can be provided.

Thanks, please check out the Kickstarter page if you have any questions.
We are a small team of developers with many years of experience in mobile apps to include banking, retail and social app development.
This is our first project so we are funding it on Kickstarter. Unlike other funding sources like VC's we are trying to get the product out and in users hands in weeks not months so we have taken this direction as a fast track to success.
Where will this go? Who knows, we are hoping to build a company around this and other products, Event Check-ins, Parties, etc. there are lots of possibilites.
