Magali Suárez Candler Recognized for Excellence in Immigration Law

    HOUSTON, TX, July 23, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Attorney Magali Suárez Candler of Suárez Candler Law, PLLC has been recognized for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in immigration law.

A 26-year immigration lawyer, Ms. Candler will be marking the one-year anniversary of Suárez Candler Law, PLLC in September 2015. Along with her firm, her focus is on representation in removal proceedings and employer sanctions, in addition to family-based, naturalization and employment-based cases, and providing expert advice on the immigration consequences of crimes. She is Board Certified in Immigration and Nationality Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.

Wanting to be a voice for the voiceless, Ms. Candler took her interest in social justice issues and fairness, as well as the desire to be an advocate, and became a successful lawyer. Having been a partner at FosterQuan, LLP (previously Tindall & Foster, P.C.) for 14 years and a Staff Attorney and Supervising Attorney for Catholic Charities for over 10 years, she has been helping clients with their inadmissibility, deportation and removal cases for years. In 2012, she helped to lead the case Umer v. Holder to a winning verdict as co-counsel. For her work, Catholic Charities recognized her by instituting the Magali S. Candler Fellowship Trust in 2001, to fund an attorney position for its immigration program. She was recently a speaker at the national conference of the American Immigration Lawyers, as she has done for many years.

Ms. Candler received a JD from the University of Houston Law Center in 1989 and is admitted to practice law by the Supreme Court of the United States, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, the U.S. District Court, Southern District, as well as the State Bar of Texas. Recognized for excellence in law, she has recently been inducted into Worldwide Registry. Additionally, she is a past chair of the Texas Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association.

Over the years, Ms. Candler has been honored numerous times for her contributions to law, including her firm being named by US News & World Report as one of the Best Law Firms in Texas for 2014. She has been included in the 2008 through 2016 editions of The Best Lawyers in America and has been recognized by H Texas as one of Houston's Top Lawyers from 2007 to the present. From 2004 to the present, Ms. Candler has been named by Texas Monthly as a Super Lawyer. Further, in 1999, she was a recipient of the State Bar of Texas J.
