Disparti Law Group Seeks Justice for Family of Man Killed Hit-and-Run Accident

    CHICAGO, IL, July 24, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Disparti Law Group is working on behalf of the family of Terrell Walker to hold responsible the motorist who caused his death in a hit-and-run accident.

Walker was struck by a black 2002 Nissan Altima as he was crossing the street in the 6400 block of Ashland Avenue at about 9:15 p.m. on June 2. He sustained multiple injuries and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the car that hit Walker fled rather than stopping to render assistance, according to the Chicago Tribune report. Police later found the vehicle abandoned in the 6500 block of South Laflin Street.

Chicago police allege that Rashaad H. Jackson, 20, was driving the car that hit Walker and have charged Jackson with reckless homicide and leaving the scene of an accident that resulted in injury or death.

Disparti said that any driver who leaves the scene of an accident in which a pedestrian is injured or killed should face criminal prosecution. A successful criminal prosecution of a hit-and-run drive, however, will not help the family that has been harmed pay medical bills or funeral expenses in the case of a wrongful death accident.
