STAMFORD, CT, July 25, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Most of us want to hop on a plane and fly internationally, but why splurge on the high costs of airfare when you can go on an exotic vacation right here in the United States? Bottom Line Personal makes it even easier in the July 15th issue highlighting the twelve best road trips in America.
No matter where you live or what you are looking for in a vacation, there is a road trip for everyone. Bottom Line Personal interviewed Jamie Jensen, author of Road Trip USA; Country Adventures on America'sTwo-Lane Highways. More information about Jensen can be found at www.RoadTripUSA.com.
If you live in the Northwest, consider driving the 340-mile length of the Oregon Coast highway, where you can find nature's bliss between the trees of numerous state parks and beautiful Pacific beaches, including Cannon Beach and Cape Blanco.
If New England is your thing, head to Vermont's Route 100. Drive over 200 miles through forests, mountains, rivers, and Vermont's classic picturesque towns. This is a great leaf-peeping road trip as well, as the southern end of this roadway winds through the spectacular autumn leaves of the Green Mountain National Forest.
Up for some adventure? Try Colorado's Million Dollar Highway, one of the highest elevation highways in America. At over 10,000 feet above sea level, you can view the spectacular San Juan Mountains as you drive along the cliff edges and it's high altitude views. Just beware of the pavement boundary between you and the drop of thousands of feet just inches from your tires.
If danger is not for you, cruise along the Mississippi River on the Green River Road. This 36-hour drive of 3,000 miles takes you to dramatic cliffs and bridges, and allows you to experience assorted scenic towns including Galena, Illinois, a nice antiquing town; and Nauvoo, Illinois, the former home of the Mormon Church before it moved to Salt Lake City. The town of Nauvoo has been restored and rebuilt to look as it did in the 1840's.
"With gas prices so low, there is no reason not to pack your bags, fill your tank, and just drive, " states Sarah Hiner, CEO and President, Bottom Line Publications. "There are beautiful pockets of scenery to look at and people to meet in all corners of our country. Become your own American explorer this summer on any one of these road trips. Happy travels!"
