According to Experian, smartphone owners in the United States aged 18 to 24 send 2,022 texts per month on average -- 67 texts on a daily basis -- and receive another 1,831. Spend two minutes responding to each text and you are losing two hours a day.

The YesNoChat app requires the sender to ask a question that can be answered by a yes or no answer. The responder simply reads the question and can respond by tapping a yes or no button on the smartphone. The time needed to respond is dramatically reduced and the responder's productivity increases by using the innovative app.

Pochat even tested the application with other people to validate its functionality.

"We asked five different males and females, ranging from 23 to 55 years old, to test the app," Pochat said. "We would watch them, take notes and iterate. We knew we had something special when teenagers were also testing the app and they enjoyed it. We distinctly noticed that for every user of any gender; a Yes or No was a natural, lightweight and effortless answer."

YesNoChat is available for free on the Apple Store for iPhone, iTouch and iPad devices. The Apple watch version is coming soon as well a version for Android smartphones.
