Margot McMahon Recognized for Excellence in Sculpture

    OAK PARK, IL, July 28, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Margot McMahon, Sculptor of Sculpture Works LLC, has been recognized by Worldwide Branding for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in drawing and sculpture.

With an impressive professional history dating back more than three and a half decades, Ms. McMahon parlays her environmental knowledge into making sculptures of human, plant and animal forms in steel, bronze, wood and concrete. On a day-to-day basis, she exhibits sculptures in art galleries, creates commissioned and nonprofit work, and teaches the three main points of sculpting, which are additive, subtractive, and constructive. Ms. McMahon's most recent commissioned work was an interracial project being done in Lincoln Park's Peace Garden for a Buddhist organization from Japan to commemorate an incident that happened there and a fifty year effort for social justice. Her nonprofit work recognizes the unsung heroes of her community.

Ms. McMahon outshines others in her field due to her public art experience and her educational background, which includes a fellowship through Timothy Dwight College, a Master of Fine Arts from Yale University, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Hamline University. Throughout her extensive career, she has won a wide range of awards, including the Alex B. Hexter Award from the National Sculpture Society and the Best Teacher Award through the Yale Summer School of Art. Within the next five years, Ms. McMahon would like to make contributions to the conversation of art and continue progressing her art.
