BREMEN, GERMANY, July 31, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Henno Hensen, Stand-Up Pouch Specialist for Hensen Consult and Partner at InnoNET Partners, has been named a Worldwide Branding Professional of the Year in Specialty Product Design & Manufacturing. While inclusion in Worldwide Branding is an honor, only small selections of members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Worldwide Branding membership.
An advocate for refillable stand-up pouches since 1980, Henno is especially enthusiastic regarding stand-up pouches, the development of flexible packaging, and partnerships in research and development companies. He was inspired to pursue this line of work by insufficient and overpacked food packaging. While packaging has improved since the 1980s, Henno believes that there is still a need for better packaging. He enjoys the field because flexibile packaging allows for innovation every day.
Henno graduated from Oskar-von-Miller Polytechnic as a packaging engineer. From 1969 to 1971, he was employed by Europa Carton AG, Bremen. He served as the owner and CEO of Hensen GmbH, a contract packaging company, from 1971 to 1997. In 1987, the company began manufacturing pouch making machines. From 1997 to 2008, Henno was the owner and CEO of Hensen Packaging Concept GmbH, which designed and manufactured pouch-making machines for spout insertion and filling pouches. He sold the company in 2008 to KHS, a division of Klöckner Werke. Henno has worked as a freelance consultant through his own business, Hensen Consult, ever since. He is also a partner of InnoNET Partners, a group of 19 consultants.
Henno's work entails developing spouts and flexible packaging containers, designing machines for filling and closing spouted pouches, working with spout suppliers and manufacturers, and promoting convenient containers and pouches that fulfill the packaging needs for clients. He also optimizes machines and systems for pouches, and conducts research and development for new systems and startups.
Henno has written and been featured in a number of published articles pertaining to his area of expertise. He recently presented at the European Stand-Up Pouch Conference. The highlight of his career has been becoming a worldwide accepted specialist in standing pouches in areas like Japan, China, India, Europe and the U.S. A recipient of Worldwide Branding's Lifetime Achievement, Henno aspires to continue connecting people in the packaging industry.
