SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA, August 13, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Sydney Oral Medicine is very pleased to announce the establishment of the first private Oral Immunology clinic in Australia.
The new multi-disciplinary clinic combines the skills of Dr Sue-Ching Yeoh in Oral Medicine, with those of Associate Professor David Fulcher, Clinical Immunologist and Immunopathologist.
Dr Yeoh is a registered specialist in Oral Medicine and maintains a specialist private practice in both Sydney and Canberra. She is also a Consultant Oral Medicine Specialist at the Royal Prince Alfred, Liverpool and Sydney Dental Hospitals, and is a Visiting Specialist at the Canberra Hospital. Dr Yeoh holds a Clinical Lecturer appointment at the University of Sydney. Dr Yeoh is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons in both the General Stream as well as the Special Fields Stream of Oral Medicine.
She is the currently serving as the Treasurer of the Oral Medicine Academy of Australasia. Dr Yeoh has published widely in peer reviewed journals, and has presented many continuing education courses nationally and internationally. Her clinical interests lie in oral mucosal disease, salivary gland dysfunction and orofacial pain. Dr Yeoh is currently pursuing ongoing research in the field of autoimmune vesiculobullous conditions.
Professor Fulcher has over 20 years experience as a specialist in clinical immunology and diagnostic immunopathology, and has a particular interest in autoimmune blistering conditions and the management of immunosuppression.
Together, Sydney Oral Medicine is able to provide a comprehensive clinic for the assessment, diagnosis and management of patients with immune disorders of the mouth, including autoimmune blistering conditions (pemphigus, pemphigoid and their variations), Sjogren's syndrome, lupus, lichen planus, and chronic major aphthous ulceration.
