Steven Litman, MD, Recognized for Excellence in Pain Management for Back Pain and Neck Pain

Dr. Steven Litman has been successful in his career by always taking on challenges, committing himself to learning more and dedicating each ounce of his energy to his patients. He works in two roles; as a private medical practitioner and Director of All Island Pain Consultants/Section Chief of Pain Management at St. Charles Hospital. Dr. Steven Litman performs a comprehensive medical evaluation to diagnose and treat pain conditions, improve function with the goal of returning to work less reliant on medication. He performs a full range of interventional pain procedures under fluoroscopic guidance including spine injections, epidurals, facet blocks, radiofrequency, spinal cord stimulators and pain pumps.

A graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), Dr. Steven Litman earned his MD at New York Medical College in 1987, completed an internship at Stamford Hospital, a residency at Westchester Medical Center, and an additional five years of academics as assistant professor in pain management/anesthesiology at Stony Brook University. He became Co-Director of the university pain program, Director of pain management at St. Charles and Mather Hospitals and has been in private practice since 1998. Dr. Steven Litman is a Fellow and Board Examiner of the World Institute of Pain, Diplomat and Board Examiner of the American Board of Interventional Pain Physicians, and holds the subspecialty certification in pain medicine from the American Board of Anesthesiology. He has served as a surveyor accrediting pain programs for the American Academy of Pain Management.
