Werner Schiesser Recognized by Worldwide Branding for Excellence in Legal Finance

Mr. Schiesser parlays extensive experience in his industry into four years of service at BDO Ltd. He is an expert at arbitration, and acting as an expert witness and accounting referee in arbitration proceedings, courts and for district attorneys. In his executive position, he is in charge of handling all aspects of acquisitions, infrastructures, IT issues, marketing and legal issues, and completing expert witness and arbitration work. Mr. Schiesser's current company, BDO Ltd. is an auditing, accounting and consulting company that provides accounting, tax advice and bookkeeping services.

Through focus, hard work, and a passion for figures, Mr. Schiesser has seen many professional successes in his career. He also enjoys working in teams and loves the ever-changing topics and challenges presented in his industry. Mr. Schiesser cites the highlight of his career as successfully solving an arbitration case where the parties did not agree on 123 positions in the financial statement, according to IFRS. After this case, he was asked to act in other cases by both parties involved. Another career highlight occurred from 2001 to 2011, when Mr. Schiesser was responsible for only the Zurich region of BDO Ltd. During this period, he significantly grew turnover and increased the base of their larger clients at the same time. When taking over responsibility in the Zurich area, he also introduced the service line of forensic services. Furthermore, since taking over the entire firm as CEO, Mr. Schiesser has continued to expand turnover, which has been recognized by mergers, with organic growth occuring in the company's core businesses of accounting, auditing and tax consultancy. Today, BDO Ltd. is a recognized firm throughout Switzerland for small and medium sized enterprises as well as large corporate clients, with sustainability emerging as an important topic during Mr. Schiesser's four years of service.

A qualified professional in his field, Mr. Schiesser received a Master of Law Degree from the University of St.Gallen and attended the Graduate School of Economics, Law and Social Sciences in 1989. As a testament to his professional expertise, he is regularly ranked among the Top 100 Employers to Work For by BDO Ltd. In the coming years, Mr. Schiesser plans to continue serving as the CEO of BDO Ltd.
