ASTON, PA, September 05, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Victoria Marotta, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Victoria Rose Fund, has been recognized as a Distinguished Professional in her field through the National Association of Distinguished Professionals. Ms. Marotta will be featured in the upcoming edition of the NADP Women of Distinction Magazine in 2015/2016.
As the Founder and CEO of her organization, Victoria Rose Fund, Victoria Marotta's main responsibility is to plan and sponsor various events to raise money as financial relief to local families in need. She also raises awareness to all forms of cancer through social media and website management and manages all operations of her non-profit. Equally important, Ms. Marotta strives to inspire all cancer patients by giving advice, compassion, and support through several mediums.
"My experience in social media management, event planning, and organization have all driven my non-profit to success," Ms. Marotta, the Pennsylvania State University graduate said. "I've also taken advantage of the many professional development resources that were given to me while in college."
Undergoing treatments for brain cancer at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, Ms. Marotta knows, first hand, how much this terrible disease can affect the lives of so many. Now able to give back to others suffering from various forms of cancer, she is constantly inspired to help make their lives better any way possible. Originally founded by her brother, Mike Marotta, in 2010, to support his sister, Ms. Marotta took over and CEO in September 2011 after recovering from Medulablastoma brain cancer (childhood brain tumor). As she slowly recovered and went in to remission in 2011, she was able to take control of the organization, putting her best foot forward, to pursue all the aspects of the charity work she thought necessary.
Although it took Ms. Marotta seven years to complete her college degree, due to her illness, she was an Edward Berman Scholarship recipient who graduated with a BA in Communications from The Pennsylvania State University in 2015. The endless nights in the hospital, MRI's, 10 hours of brain surgery, loss of her hair, ovary surgery, spinal tap, blood transfusions, radiation and chemotherapy treatments, constant nausea, and IV's were all worth it in the end and she is glad to be able to pay it forward today, happy and healthy and feeling great about life.
