Katie's Pizza & Pasta Osteria to Host September Giveback Tuesday on September 22

    ST. LOUIS, MO, September 06, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Katie's Pizza & Pasta Osteria is gearing for their next Giveback Tuesday on Tues., September 22 at their location in Rock Hill.

This month the event will benefit The Epilepsy Foundation of Missouri & Kansas, a non-profit 501c(3) organization that provides educational services and advocacy for those living with epilepsy, their families, and the communities in which they live throughout Missouri and Kansas.

Since 1955, the foundation has been dedicating themselves to improving the lives of those who have been impacted by seizures first- and second-hand. The non-profit is made up of volunteers, and the Professional Advisory Board is made up of over 20 board certified epileptologists, pharmacologists, pediatric neurologists, social workers, nurse educators, and psychologists throughout the two states. The board advises on educational services, research, and the various advocacy programs that they provide.

Epilepsy is the fourth most common neurological problem, following only migraine, stroke, and Alzheimer's disease. The average incidence of epilepsy each year in the nation is estimated at 150,000, meaning 48 people in every 100,000 are affected by epilepsy. It is estimated that 1 in 26 people will develop epilepsy at some point in his or her lifetime.

"Epilepsy is a scary disease that impacts so many facets of life," said Katie Collier, owner of Katie's Pizza & Pasta Osteria. "We are hoping that many people will come out to this Giveback Tuesday to help support this cause!"

On the fourth Tuesday of every month, Katie's Pizza & Pasta Osteria features a local nonprofit charity and donates 100 percent of the earned proceeds to the charity. To date, Katie's Pizza & Pasta Osteria has raised $37,000 for local charities. Lunch, dinner, drinks, and carryout are all included.

Katie's Pizza & Pasta Osteria is open every day from 11 a.m. to midnight and features Happy Hour specials from 4 to 6 p.m. Carry-outs are also available.
