The Gilbert Law Group Partners with Arvada Fire Department for Child Car Safety Visits to Denver-Area Schools

    ARVADA, CO, September 09, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Gilbert Law Group announced Monday that the firm's attorneys and in-house engineer Andrew Kim will be visiting area schools during National Child Passenger Safety Week (Sept. 13-19) to raise awareness about vehicle safety for children.

Staff from the firm and personnel from the Arvada Fire Department will be in the school parking lots at pickup times to talk to parents about adjusting car seat size and type as a child gets older, proper installation of car seats, the safest place for kids of different ages to ride in the car and other safety issues.

The following schools will be visited by Arvada firefighters and professionals from The Gilbert Law Group during the week of Sept. 13:

- St. Joan of Arc Early Learning Center
- Happy Valley Preschool
- Van Arsdale Elementary
- Head Start Preschool

According to SeatCheck.org, "child safety seats can reduce fatal injury by 71 percent for infants and by 54 percent for toddlers, ages 1-4." Unfortunately, the organization reports that seven out of 10 children are not properly restrained by their car seats. Common mistakes include improper installation, not purchasing a car seat appropriate for a child's size and incorrectly restraining a child.
