David John Douglas has been Named a VIP Member of the Year

Mr. Douglas parlays 20 years of experience in management in industry into his most recent position. As a seasoned professional, he is adept in the areas of training, team development, efficiency and effectiveness improvement, innovation, process design, productivity improvement and quality assurance. Mr. Douglas is currently in partnership with an MBA graduate with CEO experience. Together, they are designing a product for process and productivity improvement for the community services sector. Previously, Mr. Douglas worked in the food processing and agri-chemical industries as a quality manager, a production manager and a plant manager.

With great passion and drive, Mr. Douglas has seen many professional successes throughout his career. He prides himself on being very creative and being able to think outside of the square. He became involved in his career because he has discovered a fascination with empowering people through lived experience. He cites the highlight of his career as assisting in assembling the production line, commissioned line and training Safcol Australia staff in french fry processing. His line produced 35 percent over budget on two shifts over the last year, turning over $20 million and earning $2.4 million in profit for Southern Farmers Group. While he served there, his division became the most profitable division of Southern Farmers Group.

In order to update his professional qualifications, Mr. Douglas is pursuing a Dual Diploma in business and marketing from the South West Sydney Institute of TAFE. Additionally, he received a Graduate Diploma in business administration in 1984 and a bachelor's degree in applied chemistry in 1978, both from Federation University Australia. In his spare time, he is charitable toward The Victorian Branch of the Pathways Foundation. Looking to the future, Mr. Douglas would like to improve upon process and productivity within the community services sector. He would also like to increase the size of his organization and apply it to similar models worldwide.
