IRVINE, CA, September 24, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Being a designated driver (DD) has become much more attractive now that restaurants are joining forces with the California Office of Traffic Safety. Two of Orange County's finest restaurants, Bistango in Irvine and Bayside in Newport Beach, will now offer free nonalcoholic beverages to DDs. DDs are encouraged to announce themselves when they arrive at the restaurants so that their bill reflects the complimentary drinks.
In response to the introduction of the program, both Bayside and Bistango have added nonalcoholic beverage(s) called "mocktails." At Bayside, for instance, guests can enjoy a "Strawberry Fojito" of strawberry puree, fresh mint, lime juice & soda water or "Mocktail Mule" of mint, lime, simple syrup, ginger beer & club soda, while at Bistango the "Alcohol-FREE Mint Julep" of mint syrup and lemonade will be offered.
"We are delighted to partner with the California Office of Traffic Safety on this worthwhile program that will, no doubt, prove valuable in enticing more people to be DDs," said Bistango owner John Ghoukassian.
