MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA, October 01, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- In today's competitive environment, job hunters need to produce an attention-grabbing resume in order to have the chance to be called for an interview. In fact, research conducted by job search site The Ladders reveals that recruiters spend only around six seconds on a resume before rejecting the application. This means they have time to read around 20 to 30 words. Outsource Australia say: "Looking at the study, it is clear that candidates must impress recruiters right on top of their Resume by writing a short but powerful summary that distinguishes them from the rest of the applicants and grabs the recruiter's attention." Outsource Australia reveals their top tips to writing a memorable summary:
1. Tailor the summary to a specific role
Looking at today's job engines, Outsource Australia point out that they encourage job seekers to send the same application to many different firms by using the option to send their saved CV. "This means applicants may send plenty of applications; however they are simply not personalised and this shows the recruiter that the applicant did not spend any time to find out more about the company and the role," says Outsource Australia.
The firm insists that the summary must be tailored to each job application. They recommend selecting three to four responsibilities of the advertised role and highlighting how they are reflected in the candidate's previous experience, for example: 'Regional Sales Director with 7 years of experience leading sales teams in start-up and rapidly growing companies'.

2. Focus on specific results
Recruiters are keen to know how the applicant's previous employer could benefit from their implemented ideas and performance. Outsource Australia recommend to be specific, highlighting great results and accomplishments, for example: 'Developing personalised and award-winning sales strategies'.
3. Avoid using generic terms
By using phrases such as 'proven track record', 'attention to detail' or 'team player', applicants put themselves in line with the other hundreds of job seekers that rarely get invited to an interview. "These gap fillers will certainly not help you distinguish yourself from all the others," says Outsource Australia. Instead, the firm recommends following the first two points to grab their reader's attention and secure the interview.
