National Association of Distinguished Professionals Selects Deanna Fahey as a Distinguished Professional in Her Field

    OLD TOWN, ME, October 15, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Deanna Fahey, Founder and Owner of NBEC, has been recognized as a Distinguished Professional in her field through the National Association of Distinguished Professionals. Deanna Fahey will be featured in the upcoming edition of the NADP Women of Distinction Magazine in 2015/2016.

NBEC, which originally began as Bringing Back Outdoor Play in 2010, Deanna Fahey wanted to promote unstructured, outdoor play for both adults and children. She created a resource web page as a one-stop-shop for those interested in finding out more about this nature based play. Ms. Fahey began to dive deeper into the research of this idea, visiting organizations that were already invested in incorporating outdoor play.

"I decided that I wanted to work more directly with educators, traditional, and non-traditional, who wanted to incorporate nature-based lessons into their plans. This is how NBEC began to take shape and evolve."

As Founder and Owner of NBEC, Ms. Fahey's main focus right now is in marketing and promoting her services through social media. She is looking forward to creating a YouTube series that will demonstrate nature-based lessons for home-school parents interested in incorporating nature into their plans. To justify her work, Ms. Fahey also spends much of her time dedicated to finding relevant information on the benefits of nature-based education to justify how her lessons and promotion of her ideas.

A teacher at heart, Ms. Fahey hopes to educate adults on how to use nature as a means to their teaching ends. Growing up in a generation where children went outside and played until dark, it makes her sad to see so many children not experiencing the joy of nature and being cooped up in classrooms all day.

Ms. Fahey has written an article for 'Clearing Magazine' on Forest Schools, she has also been interviewed several times for newspaper articles and journals about her business. She's also self-published several children's picture books on nature play, which can be found at her local library.
