Skilled in mechanical engineering and project management, Mr. Power has spent 35 years in the industry troubleshooting issues, commissioning projects, re-engineering, and conducting bankable and definitive feasibilities studies.

He began his career in steelworks, getting in on the ground floor of Pilbara's budding iron ore industry. Building his career from there, he became an OHS consultant. Further, he invented and patented the iSOL8 system, an RFID, NFC and cloud based technology and "smart" electronic lock and key secure access box, which will be simple to use by shop floor employees and require less administrative time. Mr. Power plans to develop a new business in the near future and establish iSOL8 as an industry system.

Mr. Power earned a diploma in mechanical engineering from Gippsland Institute of Advance Education in 1969 and a graduate diploma in occupational health and safety from Curtin University in 1990. He is a Risk Society Member of the Institute of Engineers Australia and has received the Occupational Health Society of Australia - WA Branch "Best Final Year Assignment Award" from whilst completing his studies at Curtin University. He is a former councilor of the Shire of Ashburton.
