York County Development Corporation Receives Excellence in Economic Development Award

    YORK, NE, October 21, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- York County Development Corporation (YCDC) has worked hard this year in collaboration with Golden Shovel to improve their online presence - and they are now reaping the benefits of their efforts. The International Economic Development Council (IEDC) hosts an annual conference where they recognize the world's best economic development programs and partnerships, marketing materials, and the year's most influential leaders through their "Excellence in Economic Development Awards" program.

Earlier this year, YCDC sent in their nomination for the 'Excellence in Economic Development Awards" showcasing their website - http://yorkdevco.com. They applied for the 'Communities with populations less than 25,000" category. After months of reviewing proposals from economic developers from around the country, YCDC was announced as a finalist in their category. The 2015 IEDC Annual Conference was held October 4-7 in Anchorage, AK. One of the main events of this conference is the awards ceremony where the winners of all pre-selected categories are announced and York County Development Corporation was announced as the winner in their category.

York County Development Corporation approached Golden Shovel in 2014 aiming to increase their online presence with a new economic development website. The goal of the new website is to promote the retention and expansion of existing business, market industry-ready sites and buildings to attract capital investment, highlight unique benefits and quality of life in the county and create awareness of workforce training and development opportunities in the region. Golden Shovel worked closely with YCDC to build a website with a robust focus on its location advantage, demographics, major employers, and labor availability, ultimately encouraging businesses to consider York County as a new location.
