Jim graduated from Duke University School of Law with honors in 1992. Jim earned his undergraduate degree in political science in 1988 from Duke University, where he graduated magna cum laude. He is a member of the Florida Bar and the Orange County Bar Association and is admitted to the Middle District of Florida.
Jim has been married to his wife Brenda for 25 years and has two children. His oldest son is a senior at Rice University in Houston, Texas and his youngest son is a freshman at Vassar in upstate New York. Jim is an avid fan of live theater and sports, especially Duke basketball. He is an active volunteer and lends support to the drama department at Winter Park High School.
