Nordic Innovation Increases Support to Nordic Innovation House in Silicon Valley

    OSLO, NORWAY, November 04, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Nordic Innovation House (NIH) in Silicon Valley will receive increased support from Nordic Innovation, following its initial success. The augmented support will increase promotion and communication, build stronger scaling programs, improve access to San Francisco accelerators and strengthen administrative and legal help.

The Nordic Innovation House in Silicon Valley is a co-working and virtual office that provides a soft landing for Nordic tech businesses, investors and local advisors looking to enter the American market. Through the house, Nordic entrepreneurs are given access to a community of potential investors, partners and service providers who may be the key to growing their business in the United States.

Director of communication at Nordic Innovation, Bardur Orn Gunnarsson, is optimistic about the future of the project after seeing the impact so far: "Nordic Innovation House has been a great inspiration for Nordic cooperation. This success has generated interest from national institutions and other stakeholders in various locations. We need to follow up on that interest."

The project is co-funded by Nordic Innovation in partnership with the government agencies responsible for business growth within the respective Nordic countries: Innovation Norway, Vinnova, Team Finland, Innovation Center Denmark and Innovation Center Iceland.

Inspired by the recent #NordicMade event in New York City, the Nordic stakeholders are looking to establish a stronger collaboration in the area. Meanwhile, Nordic Innovation has signed an agreement to open a Nordic Innovation Incubator in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) with additional potential location in the near future.
