I'm only a few chapters in and totally absorbed . It's refreshing to read a story that can spark the imagination and put a lump in your throat so easily. Vern Wutzke - Film and TV producer.
CALGARY, AB, November 05, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Modern, because it is set in the present day and Classic, because there are elements that each family member will embrace, Doc Christmas is a starting to land on, and fly off, shelves online and at select resellers across North America.
Set in the present day where Christmas deliveries are handled through the world's railways and model trains, we always expected there would be wide acceptance with train fans of all ages. With an appeal similar to how Harry Potter has a broad appeal, we are also being rewarded with a good response from specialty and independent booksellers as well. We're adding railroad and bookstore resellers every day, and that is gradually bringing the story of Doc Christmas across North America.

The Doc has lost his joy for his family, for Christmas, and for most everything else in his life. The only thing that matters to him since his wife passed away is his work. His unfettered focus has made him into a world-renowned specialist in rare infectious diseases. This fact has just become very important to Nick, who desperately needs the Doc's help in curing an epidemic that is raging through the elven population of the North Pole.
The story follows Doc's journey as Nick goes undercover and with a little help from Doc's daughter and niece, helps him to reconnect with his family, believe in Christmas again and then ultimately learn to believe in magic, all so that he can get to be the right size to save the elves - about 5/8" tall - the size of the average elf.
"I first wrote the story as a movie script, so you will likely see some of the imagery for the film when you read the book. I also wanted to appeal to the 'ipad' generation, so I gave the elves far more advanced technology than that. (Pay attention Apple - you're going to love the 'elf-pad'!) Also, I've always thought that trains and Christmas went together, so I gave trains the leading role in delivering the holiday."
