Statewide Effort Celebrates Philanthropy

    DENVER, CO, November 14, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The sixth annual Colorado Gives Day will be Tuesday, Dec. 8. Organized by the Community First Foundation, the event raised more than $26 million for 1,677 charities across the state last year!

Family Promise of Greater Denver has participated in Colorado Gives Day every year and is excited to be part of this year's outreach.

"Colorado Gives Day is an incredible opportunity for local nonprofits," said Jolynn, Snyder, executive director at Family Promise. "The event makes it easy for donors to choose from upwards of 1,600 charities and support them through online giving. We've helped more than 1,100 families struggling with homelessness, and our mission depends on this type of generosity. We're honored to part of such an important, philanthropic effort."

Colorado Gives Day donations increased by 18 percent last year and have raised $83 million for nonprofits over the event's five-year history.

Supporters can donate to Family Promise Dec. 8, schedule a donation in advance, or create their own fundraising page to encourage others to give this December.
