ORANGE, CA, November 15, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- When Ben Ruppel first began his career in music, he recorded from his computer, drum machine, and guitar onto audio tape. He also made abstract videos of paintings slowly coming alive on old Hi-8 tapes and set his music to them. "I definitely went through a digital phase too." Ben adds. "I spent a lot of time learning to use midi software and things like that on the computer until I realized I had it right all along with the analog stuff."
Ben now considers himself something of a retro musician. "I'm hard to find these days, in every way possible. Retro, you could say, but definitely hard to find." He seems to have opted for a more dark, melodic, and somewhat grungy sound on 'Adore'. "I did my own online market research to see what people liked. A lot of people didn't like the sounds I created at all in any way, but I got some good advice."
Though Ben admits he isn't well liked by many listeners, he thinks what he's doing is somewhat relevant. "It's hard to stay current in this day and age, and people didn't like my initial songs off 'Adore'. I think if you like my music, you'll love my album, if you don't generally like my music, well, you might find you like a few of the songs off 'Adore'. I definitely try to appeal to as wide an audience as possible, and I made changes based on what people said, including getting a singer to help me out on a couple tracks."
As for where you can get a copy, 'Adore' is currently available only threw the artist's website, at justofficial.com. "Yeah, I was thinking of releasing the album threw the traditional digital retailers, but I feel I don't have enough of a following to really warrant that. I have a link on my site to where you can purchase a physical copy."
Ben hopes he will sell some copies, but is also realistic about what the future holds for him. "I say this every time, but this might be the last album I make. There just is too little incentive to keep putting out albums no one listens to."
Ben Ruppel is an artist, musician, designer, and webmaster of Justofficial.com. He lives in Orange County, California with his family.
