OXNARD, CA, November 25, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- For more than 60 years, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Oxnard and Port Hueneme (BGCOP) has given the gift of Great Futures to thousands of kids and teens, especially those in need. This Dec. 1, BGCOP is encouraging the community to mobilize for #GivingTuesday and help launch the Gift of a Great Future campaign by donating one or more gifts of Club membership at $20 each to help at-risk kids achieve success.
BGCOP is a recognized leader in youth development and provides quality programs at 18 locations, year-round, five days per week, to more than 9,200 members, ages 6 to 18 years. BGCOP is a membership organization with annual member dues of only $20, however, no one is turned away, regardless of ability to pay. For every $1 donated to BGCOP there is a 400% return on investment to the community.
"With your help, we can continue to provide our local at-risk youth with the gift of a world-class Club experience that assures success is within reach of every young person who enters our doors, with all members on track to graduate from high school with a plan for the future, demonstrating good character and citizenship, and living a healthy lifestyle," said BGCOP CEO Erin Antrim.
Now in its fourth year, #GivingTuesday harnesses the power of social media and the generosity of individuals, corporations and communities by providing an easy and secure way to give to a favorite organization. Donors can simply text the word BGCOPGiving to phone number 41444 or click the donate button on the BGCOP homepage (www.BGCOP.org) between Dec. 1 and the end of the year to give.
