At Risk Youth Drop-in Centre to Receive New Computer Lab on Giving Tuesday

The Electronic Recycling Association and St. Vital MLA Nancy Allen to present 15 computers to Winnipeg's Teen Stop Jeunesse.

WINNIPEG, MB, November 27, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA), along with Winnipeg MLA Nancy Allen, will be presenting Teen Stop Jeunesse Inc. (Teen Stop) with a donation of 15 desktop computers on December 1, which is GivingTuesday. GivingTuesday is a nation-wide initiative that promotes giving-back on the Tuesday immediately following the consumer sales and material focus of Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

"We are extremely excited to present Teen Stop with a new computer lab on GivingTuesday," says Bojan Paduh, founder and president of the ERA. "And we are thrilled that Ms. Allen will be joining us to show her support of our activity in the Winnipeg community as well as the great work done by Teen Stop."

Teen Stop is a non-profit charitable organization serving as a youth drop in center since 1980, and their computer lab is used daily by youth in the drop in centre, students in the adult learning centre and community members. The workstations allow participants to access the internet, to research and complete homework assignments, job search and resume writing, socializing and entertainment.

"Teen Stop Jeunesse Inc. is so very happy to be partnering with ERA," says Patrick Leblanc, executive director of Teen Stop. "This donation allows our staff and volunteers to continue the great work supporting the community we work and live in. Community youth have been asking for updated equipment for quite some time and now with this donation we are able to make it happen. This type of capital investment in our facility would have taken us years to fundraise for and through this partnership it has taken just a couple of months. We are truly grateful to have received this gift."

Media representatives are invited to attend and cover this donation story as ERA and Nancy Allen present Teen Stop with 15 computers.

About Teen Stop Jeunesse inc.
Teen Stop Jeunesse Inc. is a non-profit charitable organization that has been serving the St. Vital community for over 35 years. A drop in center was established in 1980 to provide a safe place where youth (aged 8-18) could gather under adult supervision in an environment free of crime, drugs and alcohol. The centre gradually developed additional programs which focused on families in response to identified community needs. Teen Stop Jeunesse believes the best way to help a child is to help the family.
