WILLIAMSBURG, VA, December 03, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marilyn Asprey, Self-Employed Author, Consultant, and Retired Gifted Teacher, has been recognized as a Distinguished Professional in her field through Women of Distinction Magazine. Marilyn Asprey will be featured in the upcoming edition of the Women of Distinction Magazine in 2015/2016.
Having spent two years as a teacher of gifted students at the Dr. Albert Schweitzer Elementary School in Anaheim, California, Marilyn Asprey taught not only in California, but in Mississippi, as well as over 20 years in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Her many additional joys were with the Virginia Beach City Public Schools, and Williamsburg-James City County Public Schools. She has since dedicated her time to a number of different projects, including serving as the Owner of a photography business, VideOnomic$, since 2002, doing philanthropic work on occasion, volunteering with Daniel Wetta Publishing Company, and co-founding Writer's Council in 2015. Her journey has led her to also become a published author of two books, which she is extremely proud of and the initial inspiration for the foundation of The Writer's Council, which serves to encourage aspiring writers to pursue their creative dreams and become published.
Ms. Asprey's first book, entitled 'Journey Into Fulfillment', is a light philosophical vignette series of joy. Her second book, 'Time On The Turn', is a series of historical and heritage sketches of the United States of America. Both books have been published through Xulon Christian Publishing Company under her penname, M.J. SCOTT, and both were featured in the London International Book Symposium in April 2015, which represented 12 countries. She also has two more books in the wings, 'Enthusiasm' and 'Power Steering', which will be published through Wetta Publishing Company. 'Enthusiasm' is a short business and everyday living book and 'Power Steering' is about discovering the gift of intuitiveness. Ms. Asprey also photographed the cover of 'Power Steering'. Finally, 'Sports Attic', a novel, will also be released in the near future.
"I began writing at the age of eight," Ms. Asprey stated. "Now, as a professional author, I hope to continue in my creative endeavors in both writing and publishing and enjoy the myriad of opportunities and experiences that comes along with it."
'Time on the Turn' will be included in the Xulon Christian Publishing 2016 World Trade Show. It will be exhibited in Hershey, Pennsylvania, Chicago, Illinois, Cincinnati, Ohio, Nashville, Tennessee, Denver, Colorado, and London, England. For more information, visit www.xulonmarketing.com.
