RALEIGH, NC, December 04, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Advanced Wellness Systems (AWS) announces that the Raleigh, NC-based company will launch an enhanced version of its Advanced Vitality workplace wellness program in 2016 that will feature a new dashboard, better navigation, and more robust vitality practice and assessment tools.
The Advanced Vitality (AV) program is a "personal, web-based guide to thriving and flourishing that is grounded in original, science-based practices for increasing health, energy, vitality, resilience, and creativity. AV goes beyond the typical diet-and-exercise methodology of most workplace wellness programs," explained Joyce M. Young, MD, MPH, the founder and managing director of AWS.
Unlike traditional wellness programs that focus primarily on avoiding illness and risk, AV focuses on human potential and building vitality -- "the sense of being alive, passionate, and excited," Dr. Young said.
Through many years of research, Dr. Young and her team of experts concluded that high vitality improves health, relationships, personal performance, and resilience while lowering stress, anxiety, and health-care costs.
According to Carolyn Naseer, MA, director of AWS's AV Commons division, the new, streamlined version of the AV program will feature a redesigned dashboard that reduces "cognitive load," or the total amount of mental effort a task requires. "The enhanced AV offers easier access to modules. It also features relevant, personal, and regularly refreshed content to entice and engage participants."
The AV program includes six modules that cover vitality-cultivating methods with specific health benefits: (1) "Boost," which involves regular micro-sessions of high-intensity exercise; (2) "Nature," for restoring attention and mental energy through exposure to nature; (3) "Meaning Uncovered," for discovering one's sense of purpose and meaning; (4) "Mindfulness," for cultivating the capacity of being present, to slow the mind, and to focus on one thing at a time; (5) "Quality Movement," for learning how to move in an energy-efficient, balanced way; and (6) "Nourish," new for 2016, which will focus on nutrient-rich eating for energy.
Each AV module represents the life's work of one or more experts on the subjects, Naseer noted.
"Repeated exposure to AV's practices, both on and off the website, supports personal vitality cultivation," Naseer said. "The new dashboard highlights the depth and dynamic nature of the AV program to help participants strike the right balance with regular and repeated use."
Businesses and corporations interested in more information on providing access to the AV Program for their employees should contact the AV Commons at [email protected] or call 919-782-4644. For more information on AWS, visit http://advanced-wellness-systems.com.
