CYPRESS, CA, December 06, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- When the U.S. Department of Defense needed a refresh and higher resolution for its A-10C simulator visuals, it turned to CymSTAR and Christie. Based in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, CymSTAR LLC is a HUBZone Certified and Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) established in 2003 to provide engineering and systems integration of newly developed or modified weapon systems for all branches of the United States military.
With a long-serving yet still effective fleet of Christie Matrix projectors already in place, Chris Miller, Director of Business Development for CymSTAR, stated that CymSTAR performed an analysis and conducted a competition between three companies competing for the program - which entailed upgrading 21 training device installations in 12 months - with Christie emerging as the winner.
"Christie met the requirements the government and Department of Defense wanted - and was the lowest price," said Miller. "They wanted a solution with a longer lifespan, fewer maintenance issues and higher resolution. The Christie Matrix StIM WQ LED met all of the requirements the customer was looking for."
Besides solving an obsolescence issue, the new, better resolution brought an enhanced training value, which includes being capable of adding software upgrades such as AccuFrame Pro later as the customer desires.
"I think the new projectors capabilities has opened the eyes of the customer to what the potentials may be in the future, given they have installed it and are using them day to day," Miller concluded. "The customer loves the result of the refresh; both what it does now and what it can provide in the future has them excited."
The entire project is planned to be completed at the end of December.
