"Growing up as a Tomboy, I'd always wanted a fashion outlet to express myself through what I wore, but nothing existed that fit my style. That's what The Tomboy Shop is all about."
NEW YORK, NY, December 14, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Just in time for the 2015 holidays, The Tomboy Shop, the destination retailer for Tomboys everywhere, has opened its first brick-and-mortar boutique, unveiled December 3rd within the attractive storefront at 520 Park Avenue in the Mount Vernon Marketplace, Baltimore, Maryland. The shop is open Thursday-Sunday, 11:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m.
At the new shop, customers can stock their entire Tomboy wardrobe - selecting from a wide variety of jackets, hats, bags, jewelry, shirts and more. They can also discover new casual attire trends, learn about upcoming events, and meet other like-minded individuals, in a retail environment made just for their tastes.
Tomboy Shop founder/owner Rachel Grossinger sees the advent of the new store space partly as the result of a growing popular demand. "Our amazing success online led our shoppers to ask, 'When are you opening your first street-based shop?'" she says. "Since the online shop is as much a cultural hotspot as it is a retail site, we are recreating that special experience for our Baltimore-DC area customers, who can now visit us both online and by walking through our front door."
Some of the special items now available for the holiday shopper include a new line of urban lifestyle clothing and accessories for men. "We also now carry a variety of skateboards," Grossinger adds, for emphasis on the urban theme.
The presence of the physical space also allows The Tomboy Shop to participate in local cultural and commercial pop-ups and seasonal events, such as the Wear It Washington! Washingtonian Sample Sale, which was held December 13 at the DC Union Market in Washington, DC.
Of special appeal on The Tomboy Shop website is the year-round fashion Lookbook, making dramatic use of models who display a bold, unique expressiveness, in the true spirit of Tomboy culture.
"Growing up as a Tomboy," Grossinger says, "I'd always wanted a fashion outlet to express myself through what I wore, but nothing existed that fit my style. That's what The Tomboy Shop is all about. It fills that void."
To date, The Tomboy Shop has been featured in media venues such as Curve Magazine, Huffington Post, Tagg Magazine, Styleite, The Daily Mail (UK), Women's eNews, Hello Giggles and Examiner.com.
